About Us

The String Band Division is the musical highlight of the Mummers Parade. The String Bands are known for their happy music and elaborate costuming. The first String Band participated in the 1901 parade as a novelty. This continued to grow and in 1915 their own division was formed.

Sponsor The String Band Association

Collecting money through sponsorships is a crucial element in funding the diverse array of events the String Band Association hosts throughout the year. By partnering with esteemed sponsors, we are able to create mutually beneficial relationships that drive brand exposure, foster networking opportunities, and enhance attendee experiences. Sponsorships not only help to offset the costs associated with organizing these events but also enable us to elevate their quality, ensuring that each occasion leaves a lasting impression on our audience.

HOW TO WATCH THE 2024 PARADE

Our Annual Toy Drive with Kelly's Kidz

The String Band Association is once again teaming up with your favorite traffic anchor Bob Kelly and Kelly’s Kidz for a toy drive this holiday season to benefit St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children! Drop off your new and unwrapped toys at your favorite string band clubhouse from now until Saturday, December 16th!

You can drop off your toys at any of the locations listed on our flyer. If you can’t drop a toy off and would still like to donate, you can send a Venmo donation to the PMSBA @PMSBA. Include “Toy Drive” in your note if paying by Venmo.
